School Improvement Plan

As we continue to improve the ways that we serve our students and their families, the Ashton Meadows learning community has outlined three priorities for our School Improvement Plan:

Instruction and Assessment

When we engage students in authentic hands-on learning experiences (i.e., grounded in real-life contexts and supported through differentiated instruction and assessment approaches that allow for early intervention and invite student choice and voice), then achievement gaps will be bridged (i.e., math), students will espouse more positive attitudes towards learning and apply their knowledge within the context of their lived realities.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

When we nurture collaborative learning experiences through culturally responsive instructional approaches and student leadership and engagement opportunities that affirm their lived experiences and interests, and foster positive relationships,  then we will build physically and emotionally safe,h ealthy, and inclusive learning environments where students feel they matter and belong.

Dismantling Anti-Black Racism Strategy

When we facilitate learning experiences that honour different ways of knowing with a specific focus on incorporating content and resources that affirm Black identities and experiences, then we will cultivate  Black-affirming learning and working environments.
